In life, we always have goals that we want to pursue. We want to get excellent career path, success in the workplace, endless fame, and many other good things. However, life is not as sweet as it may seem. We struggle for our dreams, but sometimes we fail. We invest a lot of time and energy for something we desperately want, but we end up losing. And after all those failures, we are told about the romanticizing of failure by our family or our peers. We are told that failure is just a delayed success. We are told that it is okay to fail because at least we have tried. We are told that it is okay to fail because at least we get some experiences in the process.
The romanticizing of failure as such is somehow necessary. The romanticizing of failure is important because it keeps us happy in the process of pursuing our goals. The problem with success is, it mostly relies on luck. Sometimes, we have good skills that others don't, but our merit can't allow us to enter the job field we want. Instead, others who are not as good can easily get hired either because they are from rich family and have some relatives in the companies or because they are just lucky. The thing is, there are many things in life we can't control. No matter how much we try, we just can't achieve our dreams. For that, it's best that failure is being romanticized. So that we are not afraid of losing. So that we won't be trapped in the shadow of disappointment. If we don't have to feel scared of failure, we won't feel the pressure and can actually be happy in the process.
The romanticizing of failure is also good because it keeps us staying in the game. If we don't have to feel the fear, we won't have to worry about trying again and again and again. We might actually fail the first time, but the more we try, the bigger the success rate of success. The only way to keep us trying and not giving up is, not to get lost in the despair of failure. That is to say, we need to ensure that failure is not constructed as something bad, so that we are not trapped in it. If we are too afraid of the failure, it will be hard for us to get back up again. We will always be haunted by the past, to the point that our psychological state might be disturbed. For that, it is paramount to just enjoy the ride, hence we won't be too scared to keep trying, and we might actually achieve our dreams in the future without even realizing it.
In conclusion, life is not all about accomplishment. It is also about enjoyment, being happy in every process that we experience. The problem with the absence of the romanticizing of failure is, it leads us to fear, despair, and trauma. We will be ensnared in something that shouldn't even be grieved. We forget that there is still a spark of happiness that we can enjoy. It is paramount that we don't get caught up in failure, so that we can be happy in the process and have more motivation to try and not give up. The answer is, the romanticizing of failure in the struggle for success.
Very useful insight.
